Final Reflexion

I have enjoyed taking this class. I feel I need a lot more practice but I enjoyed learning a lot of things I did not know. I learned about google docs. I asked my students and they did not know about it. They have a project coming up where I am going to ask them to use it.
We also used videotaping and posting on the web. My students will use that on the same project too. I am really excited about this. I think it will turn out very nice.
Another thing I have been using is google reader. I subscribed to free technology for teachers and I have been finding lots of useful information and programs. It is amazing to see what is out there for free.
In the future, I would love to make a website of each one of my classes. I would like to include handouts, test, surveys videos and music that could be useful for them. I think I need more time and lots of practice.
It was very helpful to me to see that other people around me also struggle. People in general were very helpful and I enjoyed being in the class.

Hippocampus

This website was not very helpful to me. There was no section for World Languages. The only thing I thought I could use was the Math lessons in Spanish. However, I thought that the level may still be too advanced for my students. I guess they could read and listen to math in Spanish but I am not sure that all of them would have the math level they have there.
The site had interesting fun games for other subjects too but not a great source for Spanish.

Thinkfinity

I have been looking at this website for a few days now. It had a lot of interesting information but it seemed not to have a lot of materials for my Spanish class. I thought I could perhaps use it for the part when we study the Spanish speaking countries or anything that has to do with culture and history. Today I finally found something that was specific to my subject. There was a whole lesson on the Spanish speaking families. The lesson was pretty elaborated and I definitely could use some of it next year when we do the family. (I just finished with that unit) http://edsitement.neh.gov/view_lesson_plan.asp?id=306

Quiz posting practice.

I am trying to post a quiz. I went all the way to creating it but when I try to embed the code something goes wrong. I think it has to do with editing to fit within the blog's main column. Maybe I will try again tomorrow and it will be much better. Time to take a break.

RSS

Well, it took me a while to figure this out. What is new? I found Reader very interesting. I understood the video. It seemed very simple and easy. I was not very clear on what to do. I subscribed to free technology for teachers and I like the idea of making tests on line. I also subscribed to Tontito Frito in You Tube. This last one has a series of videos that explain Spanish grammar and Spanish realated topics in a different way. This last subscrition is not showing in my reader. I am a little confused once again. Was this only for blogs to read?
I do not know if I am making much sense, I tried to do this at school this morning but I could not see the blog list from my computer there. Eventhough I am learning I feel very challenged.

Well, I thought I would try adding a picture from my camara at home since I could not upload them from my phone. I am not sure the porter cable I have is the right one and it is not working. I finally made it work!!!

Baaad day!!!

I have been trying to get the pictures from my phone to the computer. I did it before but today does not want to happen. I am not sure I have the right wire. I have reading through the RSS information. It all looks very easy and simple but for some reason eventhough I have found some interesting websites to which I thought I had subscribed it did not show in my my reader. I think I have been going at it for too long. I am not a cyber learner that is for sure. I get very distracted with everything I find. So many things to read and look at. I am posting this blog and walking away. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day. I sure hope so!!! Have a great Saturday evening.

I started using more technology on the last semester. We started doing journal blogging in my advanced Spanish class. I have also been searching more on the web for materials that may be interesting to my students so we can view them in class.
I would like to give my students more assignment that can be created with technology. For instance, in previous years we have done videos for cooking projects. It was usually hard to do because some students had no video cameras. I think now it could be very easy since most phones have videos and cameras.
Another thing I would like technology with would be having my own web site for the class. I was surprised to find several teachers who have their own websites where they post songs, homework, projects and videos for their students. I would love to do something like that so my students can work also independently and revisit what has been learned in class.
Last semester I also learned about google docs. I would like to introduce that to my students so they can collaborate and do projects together without having the trouble of having to get together.
As a whole I find technology extremely fascinating. I think last semester class was very helpful because it made me less afraid. I hope to get even more confident so I can use it even more. Just yesterday, in class we watched a video on You Tube about some grammar point my students were not getting. I could not believe how attentively they watch that video. Not only that but also now my students can go to that web site and watch it again if needed. Students can definitely benefit for using technology.
I am very excited about this class. Last semester it got me motivated to use more technology in the class. I have been using blogging in the classroom but I have still many questions about it. I am very excited to learn more. It amazes me all the things that are available with the use of technology.
